    While it isn’t particularly fun to see things like this when you want to fiddle around with Tumblr, it is at least a nice little graphic you’re being served when the service is down, courtesy of The Oatmeal.

  • Allt om iPhone #7 blev mitt sista nummer

    Jag har, på uppdrag av förlaget IDG, varit redaktör för MacWorld-spinoffen Allt om iPhone sedan #2. Detta nummer, det första som var helt svenskproducerat (alla nästföljande är det med), kom ut tidig vår förra året (2010 alltså) och var tänkt att vara något av en manual.

    För några veckor sedan nådde Allt om iPhone #7 butikerna, och det är det sista med mig som redaktör. Att producera de här typen av tidning har varit utmanande, slitsamt och kul. Vart den ska ta vägen nu vet jag inte, men chefredaktör Leijon har säkert stora planer.

    Nedan återfinns ett galleri med alla omslag på Allt om iPhone-nummer jag redaktörat, mest för att spara till eftervärlden. Vill du läsa mina tankar kring Apple, iPhone, iPad, Mac, och allt däromkring så är det numera Mapple som gäller.

  • How do you use Boxcar? Tell me!

    Do you use Boxcar? I tried it a while back but never got hooked. Now I’m thinking it is more about how you use it, and how you fit it into your online workflow and whatnot. How do you use Boxcar, and why is it great (or not great)? Please tell me in the comments. Thanks!

  • Waiting for the Simple themes

    I’ve gotten a few emails about the promised Simple Pfolio and Simple Static themes for WordPress, and I’m sorry they’re not available yet. The former have been in the wordpress.org theme repository queue for the last week, and since they share a codebase I’ve waited to submit the latter until the first one is approved. Obviously I’ll post about them when they become available.

  • The iPad as a blogging tool

    A lot of us are comfortable writing on the iPad. I am in fact writing this post laying in bed, on my iPad, and while my MacBook Air certainly beats it in both writing tools as well as speed and input feedback, they represent two different things. The Air is the most portable real computer there is, but it is still something I want to put on a table or, worst case scenario, in my lap. Meanwhile, the iPad is a lot easier to just prop up and hammer out a few words on. They are two different things, which is good. I’ve yet to write a book on my iPad, something I’ve done numerous times on my Air.

    But as a blogging tool on the go, that should be the perfect use for the iPad, right? (more…)

  • The grab and go iPad setup

    What if you didn’t need a fully fledged computer all the time? Let’s face it, most of the time we’re just browsing the web, checking in on Facebook, send tweets and write emails anyway. Not exactly tasks that merit a powerful computer in your home.

    Does this merit a workstation at home? Do you really want one? Wouldn’t you rather do these casual things from the comfort of your living room couch, for example? Sure, you can bring a laptop but it won’t be ideal for longer periods of time, and sometimes you have a ton of things you want to read up on. (more…)

  • Så flyttar du från Metroblogg

    Metro slår igen tjänsten Metroblogg den 25 april, så har du en blogg där är det hög tid att flytta till bättre alternativ. Lyckligtvis finns det många av dem, exempelvis wordpress.com eller Blogger. Jag delar förvisso inte Ted Valentins tilltro till den sistnämnda, men hans flyttjänst är en allmängärning som förtjänar en länk, så här är den: flyttametroblogg.se.

    Naturligtvis försöker Metro sälja Metroblogg-tjänsten till någon befintlig aktör, men det är troligtvis inte så många som kan köpa den. Det vore nästan något av en poetisk rättvisa om den hamnade hos blogg.se, på något vis förtjänar de varandra.

    Nåja, nu ska vi inte vara sådana. Har du din blogg på Metroblogg idag så flyttar du till ett bättre ställe omedelbums för att slippa krångel och riskera bli av med innehåll. Jag föreslår wordpress.com, men det mesta är ett steg uppåt. Lycka till!

  • iPad: What I really need

    Sometimes I want to jot down thought on things to work them out. Some of these things make for excellent blog posts since others are in similar situations. I bet this is of of those, so here goes.

    I’m a big iPad fan and avid user, having had it since weeks after the wifi model launched in the US. Currently, I have an iPad 3G with 32 GB storage. It’s almost always packed, but the culprit isn’t movies, music (that’s just some 6 GB of essentials) or even photos. No, the problem is apps.

    I have lots of apps, and I keep them way too long.

    This got me thinking. What kinds of apps do I really need for my iPad? (more…)
