  • Merry Christmas

Sweden celebrates Christmas today, on Christmas Eve, so there’ll be an abundance of food, drink, and a jolly good time. So Merry Christmas, wherever you are.

  • Less than five todos

I’m visiting my family down south, and it’s snowing. Congratulations kids, but less fun for me since I’ll be driving to pick up my little sister and her cat. Slow and easy does it, but I can’t say I’m looking forward to spending four hours in a car.

Today is the first day in I don’t know how long where I have less than five todos. I’m happy with this.

  • Holiday travel day

Today’s a travel day for me. I’m flying south, and expected the airport to be packed. It’s not, although it has started to fill up the past half hour or so. I’ve got another 45 minutes before boarding, so I’ll get some work done. It’s amazing what you can do with so little.

  • In the clutches of nostalgia

Busy day today, lots of things that needs to get done before I fly south to celebrate Christmas with my family. At least I’m done with all the bloody gift shopping, how I loathe that particular part of the holidays. I wish my family would do away with it, but alas, the nostalgia has it in its clutches. It’s a powerful thing, nostalgia – just look at all the remakes and successful Kickstarter projects.

Better get on with it. Good luck out there, folks.

  • There might be fire

It’s always weird to send a manuscript, but I just did, my second one (I celebrated the first the other day) in a short period of time. This is a fantasy novel, I called it Project Lynn earlier, so that’s what I’m gonna refer to it as for now. It’s been sitting for quite some time, before I got a request out of the blue for a synopsis, which was subsequently shot down for being off the point as to what they wanted and needed. Fair enough, but it did get me thinking about Project Lynn again. Granted, I’d started that in October already, it being Ignored Manuscript Month and everything, but still. So now it’s on a virtual desk, ready to be dealt with in January next year. There might be fire involved, we’ll see.

  • Wrap-up days

It’s officially wrap-up days before the holidays at Divide & Conquer. I still have some stuff I want to sort out, but then I’m taking a break from this particular part of what I do for a living. There’s a lot to do over the holidays, but there should be time for some rest and contemplation too. Fingers crossed, eh? ??

  • The replacement is here

You might remember that the movers trashed my beloved Dual CS-5000 record player? Well, the replacement arrived yesterday. It’s a Rega Planar 3, very shiny and black, and I like it thus far. I’m not entirely pleased with the weighting yet, but I’ll get there. It was late, I just played one record (Alice Cooper’s Paranormal, if you were wondering), then other things happened. Can’t wait to get home tonight, I’ve missed the sound of vinyl!

  • Everyone is sick

Ah, the last days before the holidays, and everyone is sick. It’s just me and Anders in the studio today, but we probably should be home resting. That said, it’s nice to get out as well, despite snow and sleet. And Paazu is in the studio today too, always a treat.

So yeah, sniveling along, this last work-Monday of the year. How are you doing?

  • Today’s been slow

Got to bed at five in the morning last night, after some serious partying. It was a helluva night. Suffice to say, today’s been slow. I’m expect to sleep well tonight.

  • Volume up, coffee in the cup

I’ve spent the morning reading and drinking coffee, after completing some errands. There’s a party tonight, I’ve got a ton of things to do before that, including some final editing on a certain novella. Hopefully there’ll be some time for writing new stuff too.

Volume up, a fresh cup of coffee – here we go!

  • Sniffle Space

Everyone’s sniffling in the studio, or rather in their respective Sniffle Spaces (i.e. at home). I’m no different, although I think I’m on the mend. Spirits aren’t exactly flying high though, which either makes it the perfect time to tackle admin bullshit, or a truly disastrous one. We’ll see, I guess.

Swedes, keep an eye on the site for my upcoming WordPress book, Webbpublicering med WordPress 5.0. It’ll get updated from the landing page that’s up there now, to the first iteration of the proper site. I hope you’ll like it. Be sure to give the sponsors some love too, they’re awesome. Related: The cover reveal (also in Swedish, sorry).

On that note, I’ll tackle the day, hard and low, the way you should.

  • A few quick ones

Battling a cold, the merits of public transportation. It’s a good day to test working from the new apartment, which I think I’m enjoying thus far.

A few quick ones: Got a haircut (which no doubt will end up on my Instagram soonish), talked retro gaming. Test prints for books arrived yesterday, intriguing. Decided on what record player to get (well, that was the other day – I forgot). Sold a couple of games and gadgets, putting more up for sale today. New sponsor for wpmwp.se, nice. Bought glögg and lussekatter.

Enjoy your day. I hope it’ll be productive, wherever you are.

  • Public transportation is a cesspool

Public transportation is a cesspool, and the buses in Stockholm is no different. I rarely use them, but that has changed now that I’ve moved. I’m taking the bus to work every morning, experiencing traffic jams and the like because Stockholm is more broken than usual at the moment. And yes, I think I’ve caught a cold as a result of this. Lovely.

  • A tech yard sale in the making

Moving means cleaning out stuff, and I’ve got a lot. A few things from the box I’m unpacking now: PocketCHIP, a couple of Raspberry Pis, a Razer Ripsaw video capture card, the Nomad Pod for Apple Watch, Twelve South’s HiRise, an audio Chromecast, ParcSlope, a devkit for Automat, and a couple of keyboards. My goal is to sell most of this, or give it away to friends and family. It’ll end up being a tech yard sale, I bet…

  • Trying not to fall asleep just yet

I’m exhausted today. It’s been a busy weekend, spent settling in at the new place. It’s starting to feel like home. I’m trudging through the day today, we’re all tired, and looking forward to the holidays, I think. It’ll be nice with a break.

Have a nice Monday, and try not to fall asleep until this evening. That’s my goal for the day at least. Very reasonable, don’t you think?
