  • Heatwave, part deux

And so it begins anew, the blasted heatwave in Stockholm. Yesterday was okay, today is hot, but the coming days look downright horrible. Stay hydrated, stay strong, but most importantly, punch the sun in its stupid face.

    That is all. Peace.

  • Noisy train

I’m on the train heading to Stockholm. Well, the first of two because the trains are still on summer timetables, which means that they plain suck if you’re planning to commute to work. Noisy people all around, be it kids or adults, makes me thankful for my noise cancellation headphones (see the setup for more). Never travel without them.

Busy week. I’ll see you out there in the trenches, okay?

  • Quiet days

Quiet days in the summer home up north. I’m trying to nurse a headache that won’t go away, and find some peace. Results are mixed. It’s a beautiful place, this. You can see some of it on my Instagram, if you’re so inclined. It’s a locked profile but just ask for access and I’ll grant it, unless you’re a robot. Fuck robots. (Unless robots have taken over, in which case I love you so much, and fuck humanity!)

  • Lingering dreams

Dreams are peculiar things. I had an especially active dream-life last night. There was sorrow and betrayal, disappointment and failure, but also conclusions from those events that made dream-me make hard decisions. Granted, all the decisions were ones I’d rather not make in real life, but at least there was forward momentum, so good job dream-me.

What I really find interesting with dreams is how they linger. A person in one of the dreams made decisions that now, fifteen minutes after I’ve left the warm confines of bed, are still being felt. That lingering feeling, how strong it can be, is fascinating because I know it’s based on a fabrication, and not true. I treasure it for what it is, for a little while. Then it fades away, replaced by the emptiness of knowing that there was something there, but now it’s gone.

Have a great Saturday. (Wait, it’s Saturday, right? Yes. Then have that.)

  • Rainy darkness

Just arrived in the summer home after yet another trip through half of Sweden. It’s quite a drive, but other than my bloody headache, it’s not that bad actually. That, and a swim in the rainy darkness, is what I’ve been up to today. A pretty good day, all and all.

  • Something of a chill

I felt something I haven’t felt in a long time last night: Something of a chill! It was nice, having to pull the covers over my shoulder for the first time in months. Air condition in the house, as well as something resembling a breeze from the ocean, did wonders. Not that it’s chilly or anything, but I’ll take it.

Got estimates and quotes from realtors today. Fingers crossed that they’re on target. The house will go on the market in the near future. Lots of logistics to take care of first though.

Also, thank you for all the love regarding Divide & Conquer! It warms my heart.

  • It’s out

It’s out. That is all I have today.

  • Driving coma

Spent yesterday driving through half of Sweden. It was a nice trip, albeit exhausting obviously. I’m in the house in the south now, at a place called Österlen. It’s beautiful here.

The day will be spent resting, and nurturing a headache that’s been a real nuisance since last week. Tomorrow I’ll meet with real estate agent about selling the house here.

And tomorrow is also the day when we all tell you about the new venture. I’m looking forward to lifting the lid, even though it’s just a little bit.

  • Finally some rain

I’m in the summer home, and for the first time in months, it’s raining. A warm and pleasant rain, with a dash of thunder every now and then, which is good and needed, but the timing could be better. I was looking forward to a few lazy days by the lake. Better luck next weekend, because we’re leaving for the house in the south tomorrow.

Great to see Paazu again. It’s been way too long now.

  • Rain forest tin can

Heading north for a couple of days, before I’m driving down to the house in the south. It’s time to deal with that, finally. The air condition in the train is struggling with the heat. It’s gotten so bad that the train company won’t sell tickets anymore, the trains can’t cope with these temperatures. While that’s abysmal, at least they’re doing the right thing. Meanwhile, I feel like I’m in a rain forest tin can on rails.

  • Went deep

Made plans for the new venture yesterday, then went out drinking. We went deep. Fast forward to just over two hours of sleep, a day that actually went fairly well, and there you have it. Will make it an early night though, travel starts tomorrow.

  • Bark Bar in the news

Woke up to a story about Bark Bar in the local news. Swedes that are interested, check out the press release. (Yes, we did a press release about our watering hole for dogs, so what?)

Today is workshop day at the new venture, in scorching heat. There will be hydration, some of it without alcohol. Possibly.

  • Bark Bar aftermath

It’s crazy hot today. We’ve spent the day with meetings and cleaning the studio after last evening’s canine guests. Speaking of which, swing by Bark Bar if you’re in Stockholm and have a four-legged friend. Now if you excuse me, I need to hydrate.

  • Off the ground

The new business venture is off the ground, with all the necessary deals signed. I’m happy with this. Expect a full announcement soonish.

We’ve started up a few projects already as well, some for clients and others for ourselves. It’s the latter that is happening on the screen in the photo below.

  • Busy week

Busy week ahead of me, because I’m more or less off for a week or so, starting Saturday. Need to keep the todo list clean up until then. I’m glad I got most of my admin out of the way yesterday, and got some writing done, including this piece. Better get back to it, no time like the present, and so forth. Have a great week, and remember: It’s only love.
