  • Can’t wait to leave again

We’re in town to pick up some stuff, and the little one for the weekend, and I’ll tell you this: I already miss my summer office. It’s a scorcher today, not a time for being in the city. Can’t wait to leave again.

  • Pretty much all set for tonight

Today’s the day for this thing to go live, so that’s taking precedence over almost everything else at the moment. I do have some other things to sort out too, before the US wakes up, including a video meeting and some code, but I think I’m pretty much all set for tonight. Exciting!

  • Obviously different, absolutely wonderful

Midsummer is a big deal in Sweden, perhaps our biggest holiday, with fun and debauchery. This year was obviously different, and absolutely wonderful. Now I’m back in the summer home where the meowing monster was less than happy about me being away. Deal with it, kitty!

  • If you can’t go to the gym…

It’s a scorcher of a day in the summer home. I’ve spent it working, with a break for mowing the lawn. It’s quite the workout when you do it by hand, a full hour and I saved some for tomorrow. Granted, the heat didn’t help, but hey – if you can’t go to the gym…

    Killer of grass

  • All work and (almost no) play

It’s all work an (almost no) play at the moment, so I’ve got nothing for you. Well, I got something for myself at least: The Keychron K2 finally arrived. I’ve been banging out code on it all afternoon. It’s very promising.

Messy desk, I know, shut up…

  • Cutting down trees is my workout now

So it turns out mowing the lawn by hand is the equivalent of about an hour at the gym. That, and the fact that the base has moved from Stockholm for the time being, made me freeze my gym membership. Also, I wasn’t using due to that bloody pandemic. Cutting down trees is my workout now.

    It’s a big lawn.
    Before.
After. And no, that treehouse thing isn’t sticking around for long…

  • Not too shabby

It’s Friday afternoon and I’m still alive. There are a couple of more things to do when the US wakes up, but then I’m closing the lid on this hectic week. Managed to squeeze in a swim and a beer by the lake, not too shabby.

  • The base has now moved to the summer home

Last night finally saw the teaser announcement for the upcoming Conan the Cimmerian: The Tower of the Elephant board game Kickstarter that I’m working on. If you’re into things like this, make sure you subscribe to the Conan.com newsletter – there’ll be a treat.

Featuring some pretty cool artwork too, I might add

In other news, the base has now moved to the summer home. That’s another ”finally” right there, although I suspect it’ll be harder to keep my head down and keep barrelling through my todos.

“You have arrived at your destination”

  • I’m hitting the ground running

I’m hitting the ground running this morning, having been at it for several hours already. Things are changing, today’ll mark my second physical meeting in two days. It’s a lot easier to talk shop that way, and as long as everyone’s healthy – and keeping distance – it should be fine. I say should, because suddenly you’re one of those that are unaware of being sick. I don’t think there’ll be any more physical meetings before summer truly kicks in, so I’m sure everyone will be fine.

If you’re into Conan stuff, be sure to subscribe to the newsletter for a fun little thing later today, and perhaps a golden ticket-like thing come next week…

  • Day two of nutty work week (part 1)

Day two of nutty work week (part 1) started with an obnoxious cat, and a full doctor’s exam. The latter was rather haphazard, and I must say that the tools seemed awfully blunt and plasticky. Then the doctor lost interest, and I could get coffee to start the day. I suspect there’ll be a lot of disruptions like that today, thanks to the pandemic and how the smallest sniffle keeps kids at home. There’s sense to that obviously, but I also suspect I’ll keep praising noise cancellation headphones after the day is through.

  • Sensible routines

I’m back in Stockholm for most of the week. Tons of work ahead of me, so it’ll be head down, pomodoro timers, and sensible routines to get it all done.

  • It’s been a day

It’s been a day, of mowing lawns and trimming things, finding pathways to hideaway bathing spots, and setting things in order. I’ll just stay there, and let you all have your own days, respectively. I hope they were grand.

  • Happy birthday Sweden

June 6th is Sweden’s national day, so happy birthday Sweden! I feel bad for all graduates having their parties today, since it’s pouring down, but I guess it’s for the best, with the pandemic and everything. Also, welcome to the real world, kids!

Here’s a cat again, giving y’all his two cents.

  • Head down and barrel through

Yesterday wasn’t a particularly productive day, so it’s head down and barrel through the last workday of the week for me right now. I’m trying not to think about the fact that the sun’s shining and I’d rather be outdoors right now.

One more to go. Let’s do this!

  • A roaring kitty

Some days you get a roaring kitty with your morning coffee.

His name is Ullman (don’t ask)
