  • I was interviewed over at BloggingPro

    I was recently interviewed over at BloggingPro, an excellent site about blogging. The interview is mainly about my upcoming book, Smashing WordPress: Beyond the Blog – which looks like this and is due January 22nd in the US.

    Not only do I answer questions about the book and what I think of the WordPress community, as well as the new bbPress initiative, but there’s also a giveaway where you have had a chance to win your own copy, should you not have pre-ordered already. And if you have, well, give it to someone who needs to understand the brilliance of WordPress.

  • What features do you want in WordPress 3.0?

    I’m happy to see that the core development team behind WordPress have decided to adapt a less chaotic project management method for WordPress 3.0 and beyond. A blog post on the WordPress dev blog, written by Jane Wells, details this well. It also points to a forum thread where the community can discuss what features we really want for 3.0, so that the feature freeze can be set and the work can get a bit more focused.

    That is opposed to everyone pushing their very own favorite features and making every release of WordPress grow and grow and grow, before it finally hits feature freeze. Less features per release means more time to squash bugs, and hopefully that will mean that silly stuff like scheduled posts breaking like it did with version 2.9 (the upcoming 2.9.1 will fix that, meanwhile use this plugin) won’t happen as easily.     This is it, the book you’ll hopefully pre-order or at least buy when it hits the US shelves on January 22nd 2010, and the UK a few weeks after that.

  • Hosted blog comments and why I went with Disqus

    I decided to not roll my own comments here on tdh.me, using an outside service rather than the built-in WordPress functionality. This is generally not something I advice since the more outside services you’re relying on, the slower your site will be, not to mention vulnerable to a third party’s uptime and security measures.

    That being said, I’m rolling Disqus on this site, the first public one for me actually.

    I went with a hosted comment solution for 5 main reasons. (more…)

  • Why hello there

    I must say I’m happy to see you here. It’s been a long time after all, with me blogging and whatnot.

    Yes, this is my blog. This is where I’ll speak my mind, discuss matters of great importance with you, dear reader, and where I’ll roam free. In a yet to be published interview with the excellent BloggingPro (will link it when it’s up, of course), I try to explain why I haven’t blogged the last few years. Or rather, why I haven’t blogged in English, my Swedish blog is well read but has next to naught to do with the international blogosphere and matters concerning new media on a more global scale.

    But before I reboot myself as yet another voice in the crowded online media landscape, I’ll get this baby a bit more ready. I thought long and hard as to how I wanted the blog to look and behave, and mused over wether to have my blog and (upcoming) design portfolio at the same place. Obviously I decided not to, I’ll get to that later on. For now, I’ll put a tiny bit of effort to get tdh.me looking decent, and then it’ll be an ongoing work in progress I guess. After all, it is not just a springboard for my mind, but also a necessary playground amidst the more serious design gigs I sometimes venture upon.

    Meanwhile, I urge you to subscribe to my RSS feed and to keep an eye on the horizon. I won’t be there, but it is a pretty thing after all.

  • Ursäkta röran, jag bygger om

    Jag vet, det ser inte riktigt klokt ut här just nu, men som ett steg i ledet så har jag bestämt mig för att få lite bättre ordning på allt. Då blir det så här ett tag – rörigt och kanske inte så vackert alla gånger, men jag vill göra saker publikt för att få igång mig själv som sagt.

    Så, ursäkta röran ett tag framöver. Okej, klar för tillfället.

  • Flyttar tdh.se – det kan bli lite skakigt – KLART!

    Jag håller på att flytta tdh.se till Kaizr, i enlighet med min molnpost. Därför kan det bli lite skakigt här den närmaste tiden, ber om ursäkt för det. Klart!

  • Spelsverige – för er som väntar

    För er som väntar på att jag ska ta tag i Spelsverige-sidan igen vill jag bara hälsa att ni får vänta tills efter jul och nyår. Då blir det nya tag, steg framåt, och så vidare. Tack för tålamodet!

  • Manifest #1: Dags att omfamna molnet

    Molnet, detta buzzword, denna nya typ av hosting som min vän Jonathan Sulo pratar bättre om – jag tror stenhårt på den. Skalbar webbhosting, betala för vad du använder, och all den stabilitet molnet erbjuder, visst låter det bra?

    Vet ni, molnet är bra – jag vet för jag kör Spelbloggen i just molnet, via Kaizr som jag även är insyltad i. Hastighet, upptid och så vidare är alldeles utmärkta så här långt – jag är nöjd. Så nöjd att resten av mina sajter ska in på Kaizr, kanske är tdh.se redan där när du läser det här (men jag tror inte det). Ät din egen hundmat och allt det där. (more…)

  • Manifest: Det här är jag 2.0

    Jag är turboladdad idag, vilket är en utmärkt möjlighet att ta avstamp för framtiden. Därför sparkar jag igång mig själv, publikt och med full transparens, här på tdh.se idag. I en serie poster, kort och gott titulerade Manifest, ska jag förklara vad jag gör, varför jag gör det, och hur jag gör det. Jag tänker prata om jobb, om tekniker, och ifrågasätta på vägen – allt av två huvudsakliga skäl. (more…)

  • Spelbloggens senaste partner: MacWorld

    SpelbloggenOkej, jag skulle ju vara tyst, men det här är lite för kul för att inte åtminstone nämna.

    Spelbloggen – mitt och Malins och Rickards projekt från andra upplagan av 24 Hour Business Camp – har ett antal samarbetspartners på ingång. Helsingborgs Dagblad var först, där var vi igång redan på 24HBC, men de övriga har tagit lite mer tid.

    Tills nu. Den senaste partner är ingen mindre än MacWorld, och det första vi ser av det är en notis, men det blir mer. Hur kul som helst tycker jag.

  • Småplock

    Som synes är det rätt tyst från mig just nu. Det ska vara det ett tag till, veckan ut i alla fall, så att jag får ordning på allt och kan ta tag i allt som behöver fixas. Men så länge:

    • Stora Kulturbloggpriset har delats ut. Läs Rosemaris post om saken – jag var där en snabb vända, dyker kanske upp en bild eller tre på Flickr senare.
    • Spelbloggen tuffar på – målet är att gå ur beta den här veckan, men det hänger på hur arbetsveckan utvecklar sig. Vi siktar på det i alla fall.
    • Jag twittrar och Facebookar desto mer, om du inte kan få nog av mitt svammel.

    Nu åter till tystnaden med lite snooker på eurosport.se (O’Sullivan-Stevens i skrivande stund, på min speldators skärm minsann).
