  • I miss the sound of the woods

We’ve set up the home office in Stockholm today. It looks and feels great. There are some details left, but I think we’ll be able to sort it out tomorrow before heading back to the summer home.

It’s hot as hell here, not as bad as it could be I guess, but still. I miss the sound of the woods, and morning swims.

  • The owls are not what they seem

Eventful days, lots of ideas, and work to be done – it’s a weird kind of week. This photo sort of sums it up, I think.

The owls are not what they seem

  • Not at all a staged break

It’s been a pretty busy day, but that didn’t stop me from taking this not at all staged break that might or might not be snapped for a certain iPad newsletter

  • Taking time to enjoy myself

I’ve been keeping busy, but also taking time to enjoy myself. Next week looks somewhat chaotic (i.e. lots of stuff happening), so I’m glad we got this one.

The second issue of Switch to iPad is out as of yesterday, if you’re into that sort if thing. The third will require a subscription, so consider that maybe? Pretty please? 🙏🏼

  • Re-energize

Back in Stockholm for the day, running some errands. We’re off for a quick break tomorrow, to re-energize and get us ready for the week’s primary goal: Divide & Conquer 3.0. I’m looking forward to it.

Issue 1 of Switch to iPad is all but done. It’s 1,200 words long, will be free, and you should subscribe. Thank you.

  • Clients threaten to return

I’ve managed to take it easy for the past couple of days. Family things has claimed my attention, with rest thrown in there every here and there. That’ll change next week, with a bunch of things to wrap up before clients threaten to return from vacation. I’ve also decided to launch the Switch to iPad newsletter next week, so be sure to subscribe – the first issues will all be free.

  • I’ve been taking it easy

I’ve been taking it easy this week, actually. Little to no work, and an actual chance to rest up a bit. Granted, I’ve spent my ”resting up” fixing things in the summer home, simple and small things, but still things. It’s rewarding and a nice break from everything. I’ve also read a lot.

Today’s a bit of a work day though, to make sure that next week has no pressing matters. So naturally the sun’s out, and the outdoors really is where you want to be. Figures. Better get on with it then.

  • Facetime calls before coffee shouldn’t be allowed

Facetime calls before coffee, no matter how cute, shouldn’t be allowed. I’d say I’m awake, but I almost put the coffee beans in without a filter, so I think I’ll allow myself another thirty minutes or so before doing anything important. Got a bunch of things to wrap up before driving back to Stockholm this afternoon. It’s been a fruitful couple of focused work days, more or less according to plan.

  • I didn’t know what to do with my day

I sat down with my coffee to configure my 13” iPad Pro (running iPadOS 14 beta 2 – don’t do that on your main machine, people!), to try some things out, but I was feeling slightly lost. It took me a few minutes to realize why: Todoist, my todo app of choice, wasn’t installed, so I didn’t know what to do with my day. I’m not sure if that’s good or sad.

  • Focus on work

I’m taking a few days on my own to focus on work, which obviously started with me burning the midnight oil last night. That’s fine, I got a good night’s sleep, and my body’s booting up with coffee in the sunshine. I’ll read something from my Pocket queue, and then it’s full speed ahead. Not the July I envisioned, but there you go – others are doing far worse than this.

I call this one hillbilly coffee

  • Power outage

The power’s out, and it’s somewhat unclear when it’ll be back. Not exactly ideal for work, the batteries aren’t all that charged either. Except the electric toothbrush, so there’s that.

  • A real break this summer is looking bleak

Wow, it’s been a choppy week for these things… Let that be a testament as to how much shit stuff has piled up on my plate. Any sort of real break this summer is starting to look bleak, so I’m targeting part time in July, but thus far that’s not happening. It’s frustrating, I need a break before my mood sours even more, and to properly reassess all the things I’m doing. Something’s got to give, preferably not I.

  • Neighbor popped by for dinner

A somewhat rural neighbor popped by for an all you can eat dinner today.

  • Reality’s got a way

Week’s going somewhat well thus far. I hope to be on track with everything by the end of tomorrow. Then I’ll try to take it a little easier for a bit, but we’ll see – reality’s got a way of rearing it’s ugly face at times like these.

PSA: The June newsletter is scheduled to go out in a little bit. Sign up here, if you’re into that sort of thing.

    Mere hours away…

  • We have a different queen

In Sweden we have this thing that you should have a photo of the royal family, your king and queen, in bathrooms. We’re doing that too, but we have a different queen…
